Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before getting started.
Getting Started
-
That depends on your dog’s behavior, your goals, and how much guidance is needed for a full reset.
A great first step is to fill out an assessment so that we can guide you into the appropriate program.
-
I work with owners who are ready to create real, lasting change — not just quick fixes.
If you’re open to structure, consistency, and following through at home, we’re definitely the right fit!
-
No — because results depend on consistency and follow-through once your dog returns home.
What I do provide is a clear system, honest guidance, and the tools needed to create lasting change.
Training Philosophy
-
I use a variety of tools depending on the dog and the situation — slip lead, prong collar, ecollar.
Tools are not the solution — they’re simply a way to communicate clearly and effectively when used correctly.
-
A prong collar is a communication tool that allows for clear, consistent feedback.
When used properly, it is safe, precise, and often far more effective than flat collars or harnesses.
-
An e-collar is NOT a punishment device — it’s a communication tool.
It allows for clear, consistent guidance at a distance and is used at low levels to reinforce behaviors your dog already understands.
Have you ever heard of a TENS Unit?
Physiotherapists & chiropractors use these battery operated instruments to help reduce pain and muscle spasms caused by a wide range of conditions including:
pelvic pain caused by endometriosis
Your dog's ecollar uses the same technology!
Board & Train Experience
-
Your dog’s day is structured, consistent, and intentional.
This includes training, rest, real-world exposure, and learning how to settle into a calm, stable state of mind.
Our days are structrured to flow as follows:
Learn > Play > Rest
All throughout the entire day, 6:30AM-8PM.
-
Training isn’t limited to a single session — it’s integrated throughout the entire day.
Your dog is constantly learning through structure, expectations, and guided experiences.
Week 1: In Home Obedience/Walk (15MIN-1HR)
Week 2: Public Access Exposure (1-2HRS)

No — We are not groomers.
We’ll certainly make sure your dog’s needs are met while still maintaining the structure of the program.
We do offer baths and blowouts prior to “Go Home” for a small fee.
At-Home Expectations
-
Everything!
Structure, consistency, and clarity.
Training doesn’t end when your dog comes home — it shifts to YOU.
-
Clear expectations, consistency, and accountability.
Your dog will learn the system — your role is to maintain it.
General Questions
-
Yes.
We work with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. The approach is tailored to the individual dog — not limited by size.
Still have questions?
An assessment is the best place to start.
It allows us to evaluate your dog, your goals, and what’s actually going on — so we can guide you toward the right path forward.
