We do not offer separate in-person evaluations before enrollment. Our comprehensive assessment form was intentionally designed to take their place.
The form gives us a detailed picture of your dog’s history, behavior, routines, environment, and training needs before we ever recommend a program. When additional clarification is needed, we follow up directly.
A brief meeting only shows us how a dog behaves in one moment. Our assessment process gives us the broader context needed to determine whether we are the right fit and which program is most appropriate.
Once your dog arrives, the evaluation continues in real time as we observe their temperament, emotional state, learning style, and behavior across daily routines and different environments. Their training is then tailored to the dog in front of us—not to a single snapshot.

I use a variety of tools depending on the dog and the situation — slip lead, prong collar, ecollar.
Tools are not the solution — they’re simply a way to communicate clearly and effectively when used correctly.

A prong collar is a communication tool that allows for clear, consistent feedback.
When used properly, it is safe, precise, and often far more effective than flat collars or harnesses.
A properly fitted prong collar is one of the safest and clearest tools for leash communication. With its design, pressure is EVENLY distributed around the neck rather versus the trachea. A flat collar allows a dog to continually choke itself at the end of a leash or pull with enough force to injure both the dog and the person holding it. This means your dog cannot choke itself while wearing a prong!
We use it in a learning process called Pressure Avoidance or “pressure and release” — light pressure communicates that a change is needed, and the moment the dog makes the correct choice, the pressure disappears. That release is what teaches the dog how to turn the sensation off through its own behavior.

While one-on-one lessons can be valuable for teaching individual skills, we believe lasting behavioral change requires more than an hour of training each week.
Most unwanted behaviors aren’t created in a training session—they’re created through the hundreds of everyday interactions that occur between sessions. By temporarily removing a dog from the environment where those patterns have been repeatedly reinforced, we’re able to interrupt the cycle, establish healthier habits, and create a new standard of behavior through consistency and repetition.
Our programs aren’t simply about teaching commands. They’re designed to reshape routines, improve emotional regulation, build impulse control, and help dogs develop the ability to make better decisions in everyday life.
Once that foundation has been established, we teach you how to maintain it. Through an in-depth go-home session, written resources, video support, and ongoing guidance, you’ll learn how to carry those new patterns into your home so the training becomes a lasting lifestyle—not just a temporary improvement.

Prong collars and e-collars are tools we may incorporate into our programs, but they are never used as a substitute for teaching, relationship, structure, or clear communication. Every dog is evaluated individually, and the way each tool is introduced and used depends on the dog’s age, temperament, sensitivity, behavior, and training needs.
The prong collar provides clear, directional leash communication and helps us teach dogs how to respond to light pressure rather than pull against it. The e-collar allows us to communicate consistently at a distance and reinforce commands the dog already understands, particularly as we begin building reliable off-leash skills.
Both tools are introduced gradually at an appropriate level and paired with clear instruction, guidance, repetition, and accountability. The goal is not to make a dog afraid of making a mistake. The goal is to create communication that is fair, understandable, and reliable in everyday life.
During your go-home session, we teach you how to use the tools properly, including timing, appropriate levels, how to give commands, when guidance is needed, and how to follow through without becoming overly dependent on the equipment.

We intentionally keep our enrollment extremely limited so every dog receives thoughtful, individualized attention throughout their stay. We typically only train four dogs at a time, allowing us to remain closely involved in each dog’s daily routines, emotional state, progress, and overall experience. On occasion, there may be slight overlap if we are currently working with a behavior modification case that requires a longer stay.
Because training takes place within our home rather than in a large kennel facility, we are able to maintain a calm, structured environment where each dog can receive the time, repetition, and guidance they need.
The exact number of dogs in our care may vary depending on their ages, temperaments, training needs, and program lengths. We carefully consider the dynamics of each group rather than filling a set number of available spaces, always prioritizing balance, safety, and the quality of each dog’s experience.

Training is always tailored to the individual dog. Dogs are not placed together simply because they are enrolled at the same time, and interaction with other dogs is never assumed or forced.
We consider each dog’s size, age, temperament, social skills, energy level, and emotional state when determining how they will train and whether direct interaction is appropriate. Some dogs may work around one another to practice neutrality, impulse control, and calm coexistence without ever engaging in play. Others may participate in carefully supervised social time when it is safe and beneficial.
Large and small dogs may be present in the same structured environment, but safety and suitability always come first. Every interaction is intentional, supervised, and based on what will best support each dog’s development.

No — We are not groomers.
We’ll certainly make sure your dog’s needs are met while still maintaining the structure of the program.
We do offer baths and blowouts prior to “Go Home” for a small fee.

Your dog’s training isn’t complete until YOU understand how to lead them.
Before your dog goes home, we spend approximately 2+ hours together during a comprehensive, hands-on go-home session. This isn’t just a demonstration—it’s your opportunity to learn how to confidently communicate with your dog and begin stepping into the leadership role they’ve been prepared to follow.
During your go-home session, we’ll cover:
● How to clearly give each command.
● Proper timing and communication with the e-collar.
● When to guide your dog, when to hold them accountable, and how to follow through fairly and consistently.
● Leash handling, body language, and effective communication.
● The daily structure and routines your dog has been following during their stay.
● What a typical day at home should look like and how to seamlessly integrate your dog’s new skills into your family’s lifestyle.
● How to navigate common real-world situations, troubleshoot challenges, and prevent old habits from resurfacing.
You’ll also receive our Empowered Dog Owner Guide, access to our video resource library, and continued support for the life of your dog, once they return home, so you’ll always have trusted resources to reference as you build confidence.
Our goal isn’t simply to send home a well-trained dog. Our goal is to equip YOU with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to continue leading your dog long after they leave our care. When the expectations remain clear and consistent, the training becomes part of everyday life—not something that only happens during a training session.

Rather than sending private daily/weekly updates, we document each dog’s training journey publicly through our Instagram Stories. Throughout your dog’s stay, you’ll be able to watch what they are learning, how we are addressing their individual challenges, and how their skills develop from one day to the next—in real time.
Our Stories offer a candid, behind-the-scenes look at the entire training process, not simply a collection of polished before-and-after moments. You’ll see the repetition, problem-solving, breakthroughs, and everyday work that create lasting change. To our knowledge, very few training companies provide this level of consistent, day-to-day transparency from the moment a dog arrives until the day they return home.
For this reason, we strongly encourage every client to follow our Instagram account before training begins and check our Stories regularly throughout their dog’s stay. We will always contact you directly if an important health, safety, or training concern requires a private conversation. Otherwise, your dog’s daily progress will be showcased through our social media coverage, allowing us to remain fully focused on the dogs while still giving you an unusually transparent view of the experience.

Your dog’s return home is not the end of the process. It is the beginning of applying everything they have learned within your own routines, relationships, and lifestyle.
Your program includes a comprehensive, hands-on go-home session in which we teach you how to communicate with your dog, use the training tools correctly, give commands clearly, follow through consistently, and recreate the structure your dog experienced during their stay. We also walk through what a typical day at home should look like and how to integrate your dog’s new skills into real-life situations.
After graduation, continued support is primarily provided through phone, text, or email communication so we can help you troubleshoot questions and make appropriate adjustments as you settle into your new routine. Additional in-person coaching, refresher training, boarding, daycare, or Stay & Tweak services may also be available when a dog would benefit from more hands-on support.
Ongoing support is intended to help committed owners protect and build upon the training—not replace the daily consistency and follow-through required at home.
